OLYMPIA DUKAKIS

Olympia's film credits include Norman Jewison's Moonstruck, Working Girl, Steel Magnolias, Cloudburst, Sarah Polley's Away From Her and Mr. Holland's Opus. In television she appeared in Sinatra, and starred in the groundbreaking series Tales of the City. Internationally celebrated, she has won the Oscar, the British Academy Award, the Golden Globe, as well as the National Board of Review Award and the Los Angeles Film Critics Award. She was nominated for the Canadian Academy Award for Thom Fitzgerald's The Event,  and was nominated for a Canadian Screen award for Sex & Violence.

JACKIE TORRENS

Role:  Drucie MacKay


Jackie Torrens is an actor, writer, director and documentary-maker. Her television documentaries for CBC and the Documentary Channel include Edge of East, My Week on Welfare, Free Reins and Small Town Show Biz. Her radio documentary The Poet Laureate of Youth Now won an Atlantic Journalism Award and her documentary on miniaturists, Camp Mini Ha Ha, won a CBC Award of Excellence for Best Feature Radio Writing. She is also a regular contributor and guest host for CBC Radio. She won Geminis for her work as Wanda Mattice on the television series Made in Canada and was nominated for a Gemini for her writing work on Trailer Park Boys. Jackie won the Actra award for the feature Across the Line. She has been twice nominated for the Actra awards and for a Canadian Screen Award for her work on Sex & Violence.

JENNIE RAYMOND

Role :  Maria Roach

 

Jennie Raymond was born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia.  After moving to Toronto she landed the role of Anne Shirley in the world premier of Anne, for which her performance was highly praised in Variety magazine. Shortly after returning to Halifax, she landed her first professional television role as Nellie MacLean in C.B.C's made for television movie Pit Pony, which was picked up for two seasons. From there she moved to C.T.V. to play Amy Kazzan on two seasons of The Associates. She  won a Gemini for her work on Global's Blue Murder and for  two seasons she played  Jody on Showcase's Show Me Yours. She has guest starred in Earth's Final Conflict, Chasing Cane and Haven, and  TV movies such as Second String and  Murder Among Friends. Jennie worked alongside Sophia Loren in the mini series Lives Of The Saints. Films include Love and Death on Long Island and Charlie Zone. After taking a break from the industry to raise her twins she was thrilled, challenged and grateful to have been entrusted by Thom Fitzgerald with the role of Constable Maria Roach in Sex&Violence for OUTtv. Jennie won the ACTRA award, and has twice been nominated for the Canadian Screen award for Sex & Violence.
